SECURITY TRAINING UNDER SCRUTINY

The latest trends in security training will be under scrutiny at ‘Security And Defence Learning 2009’ in Berlin on December 2nd. A call for papers has been issued by the New Security Foundation, which hosts the conference, and key themes are likely to include the future of gaming and simulation, training for the growing cyber threat to critical infrastructure and the potential impact of new developments, such as Web 3.0 and ‘brain science,’ on security and security training.

“Security and Defence Learning is all about spotting trends and opportunities in education and examining their application in the security sector,” says Dr Harold Elletson, the Chairman of the New Security Foundation. “It is also an opportunity to look at a number of worrying modern security challenges and consider how new training systems and technologies can help to overcome them.”

The annual conference on technology-assisted learning for security, defence and emergency services brings security planners together with education and training experts from Europe and beyond for a day of intensive discussion and networking.

The call for papers for ‘Security and Defence Learning 2009  is open to anyone with an interest in how technology can enhance learning and training for security, defence and emergency services. A full list of themes likely to be discussed at the conference is available here.
