MOSCOW TRAFFIC POLICE UNDER PRESSURE AFTER ROAD BLOCK FIASCO AND LUKOIL DEATH CRASH
Moscow police chief Vladimir Kolokoltsev has reprimanded the head of the city's traffic police after ten private motorists were ordered to form a road block on the Moscow Outer Ring Road (MKAD) in a failed attempt to stop armed robbers fleeing from a police chase.
The motorists were unaware of what the police were planning and decided to sue the police force after the robbers crashed through the "live shield" barricade at high speed before disappearing down the ring road.

The Council of ministers of the European Union adopted today the Council's strategy to reinforce the fight against cyber crime. The strategy proposes a series of operational measures, such as cyber patrols, joint investigation teams and remote searches to become part of the fight against cybercrime in the next five years. The strategy also introduces concrete steps for closer cooperation and information exchange between law enforcement authorities and the private sector..

Technology making "a huge difference" to Security Training
Technology assisted learning is making "a huge difference" to preparedness for modern emergencies and security planning, according to security think-tank the New Security Foundation, which held its annual conference on 'e-learning for defence and security' in Berlin recently.

New Initiative on Cultural Minorities
The New Security Foundation will host a joint roundtable with the UK Defence Academy on the subject of cultural autonomy on February 28th and 29th.
The event, which will take place at the Defence Academy’s headquarters in Shrivenham, will be "a serious attempt to assess the nature of the relationship between a state and its cultural minorities," according to New Security Foundation Chairman Dr Harold Elletson.

Preparing for a Cyber Attack
State sponsored cyber attacks and preparing to fight a cyber attack will be key topics for discussion at “The Third International Forum on E-Learning for Defence and Security” on November 28th at Online Educa Berlin.
